Introduction to Reiki Third Degree
In the Usui System of Natural Healing (Usui Shiki Ryoho), the Reiki third degree is also known as Shinpiden level or the Reiki Master Practitioner level. Reiki 3rd level is aimed at Reiki practitioners who wish to continue their personal journey with Reiki having benefited from the practices of Reiki second degree. We are introduced to the mysterious teachings of Reiki in the 3rd degree course.
In this level there are 2 more symbols. The first symbol is used during healing and attunements, while the second symbol is mostly used by Reiki Masters during attunement only. The Reiki third degree attunement enhances your energy flow, strengthens your daily spiritual practice and heals you at deeper spiritual and cellular levels.
Reiki third degree course takes 6 to 7 hours to complete and is usually done on a one-to-one basis fewer students qualify for this high level. The agenda for this course varies depending on the needs of the student and usually include the following but may not be limited to it:
- A discussion on your experience with Reiki so far
- Review of Reiki Second Degree
- Learning the 2 new symbols
- Meditation on the meaning of the symbol and the symbol itself
- Attunement for the new symbols
- Meditation for spiritual growth
- Spiritual Healing
- Healing Mother Earth
- Exercise to boost your immune system
- A new technique of Reiki healing using sound
- Distance healing using the new symbols
- Group Healing
- Life Purpose Meditation
- Healing Past Karma
- Reiki Code of Ethics
- Question and answer session
- Certification and completion
You will be given the Reiki 3rd degree manual which you can start reading and after completing your 21 day practice you can apply for the Reiki Master degree which is the 4th level in Reiki. Reiki Master degree enables you to teach Reiki to others.

Does Reiki 3rd degree give "Enlightenment"?
This is rare that Reiki third degree attunement gives Enlightenment. With regular practice and by living the Reiki principles "Enlightenment" may happen anytime in a natural way just as a fruit ripens by staying connected to the tree. Similarly just stay connected to Reiki energy and spread Reiki to the people of this world with love and compassion.If you find yourself worrying just repeat this- 'Just for today, I will not get angry or worry about anything at all. I will be calm, free and spontaneous. I will continue my Reiki practice with diligence. I will be kind to everyone I come across. I will count my blessings as the occur to me during the day.'
